Why Should Guatapé Be on Your Bucket List?

Have you ever seen a town full of colors and positive energy?

Guatapé is one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia. It is famous for its colorful houses and detailed wall decorations called “zócalos.” When you walk around the town, you feel happy because every street is full of art and culture.

One of the main attractions is El Peñol Rock. If you climb the 740 steps to the top, you will get an incredible panoramic view of the lake. It is a bit tiring, but it is totally worth it.

You can also take a boat tour around the reservoir and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Guatapé is perfect for people who love nature and adventure.

                                                    MY TRAVEL EXPERIENCE

When I visited Guatapé, I felt excited from the beginning. I got up early to climb El Peñol. At first, I thought I couldn’t make it, but I kept going up step by step. When I finally reached the top, I felt proud and amazed by the view.

After that, I walked around the town and took many pictures. I tried local food and talked to some friendly locals. It was a relaxing and beautiful experience.

I used to see pictures of Guatapé on social media, but visiting it in person was much better. It is definitely a place I would recommend to everyone.
